Netflix Brazil is not your average country, but that is all about to change.
The world’s largest streaming service has recently been rolled out in Brazil, with users able to watch its original programming in local language dubbed in Portuguese and English, with subtitles.
It is a welcome change for Brazilians who struggle to find content in other countries.
In the last three years, the service has become increasingly popular in the country, with the average monthly users spending an average of 2.4 billion brazilian reais, or £1,823 ($2,955) on the service, according to Netflix Brazil.
The service has also seen a strong rise in subscription rates, which has driven some people to leave Netflix for the much cheaper Amazon Prime.
Netflix Brazil users can now also access its original series in Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic.
However, unlike Netflix in the US, Brazil is one of the few countries where the service does not have a dedicated app for users to watch content in Portuguese.
Netflix Brasil is available on all major mobile platforms, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
It was initially launched in 2014, but has since been rolled-out to users in other Brazilian markets, including South America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East.
However the service was only launched in Brazil in August, and there are no plans to expand the service to other countries in the near future.
